A body was pulled from the Merrimack River in Methuen on Sunday afternoon, according to the Essex district attorney's office. Methuen firefighters were notified that a body had been found in the river and traveled to a boat ramp at 1110 Riverside Drive in response at about 12:45 p.m., according to a statement from the district attorney's office. Methuen police and the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team also went to the scene. The body was recovered from the water and is awaiting identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the statement said.
